what we do We have earned acclaim both for our approach and for the long-term success of our participants. Bridges received one of the first “Building a Safer Future Awards” for excellence in the prevention of violence against women.
Through our collective wisdom, Bridges has developed core specialties in the highest regard for women:
- “Bridges Assessment & Application Process” professionally evaluates an applicant’s present situation, determines individual personal development & support requirements, and makes recommendations about community support agencies.
- “Bridging Curriculum” provides learning tools, resources and methods for positive transformation of mind, body and spirit to overcome abuse and trauma.
- “Employability Curriculum” re-establishes strengths, builds self confidence, focuses on goal setting for the future and develops new skill sets towards an economically stable future.
- “Class Methods” Groups create community, support to learners to acknowledge and balance negative patterns and learn a new way of dealing with the challenges of today. These groups reinforce and support the participant to keep using newly-learned behaviour.
- Networking and educational resources provide connections to the wider community, end personal isolation and help women to thrive.
Bridges has built long-term partnerships with community support agencies.
