Prerequisites: All Bridges programs are open to women applicants with a history of trauma and abuse. To get the most out of a Bridges Program, women who come to Bridges are individually assessed and are asked to be:
  • be out of crisis
  • be out of an abusive relationship and not be actively engaged in crisis level disputes with abuser(s)
  • have taken any necessary legal steps to ensure safety (restraining order, peace bond)
  • have a support system in place
  • have safe living conditions
  • have children settled in school/daycare
  • have supports in place for staying clean and sober throughout the program
  • possess personal suitability
  • and have clear motivation for employment, and/or volunteering and education
2. Bridges Assessment: This in-person interview will determine your eligibility for one of our programs. We will help you determine areas of your life that require support, and accompany this with community referrals. We will assist you if you require further personal development before attending Bridges.

3. Bridges Application
: To join any of our programs, all we require is one online Bridges Student Application to be filled out in full. We recommend 60 minutes of un-interrupted time to complete this form. Bridges Online Community is hosted on a secure environment and all staff follow Bridges Confidential Agreement. (Bridges Employability Program - Victoria Campus applicants, please call to set up an interview first).

*application-help: You may require assistance to fill in the application form. Please give us a phone call or come down to our office to use a computer and receive assistance from our staff.
